This course equips Extension Officers with the skills to support smallholder farmers in a climate-stressed environment. It focuses on climate-smart agriculture, digital reporting, and the SADC Regional Agricultural Policy (RAP). The course is structured over 4 modules: (1) The SADC Context and Policy Framework, (2) Climate-Smart Agriculture and Agroecology, (3) Agribusiness and Farm Management, and (4) Digital Extension and Data Reporting.

Scientia Agri Institute National Certificate in Plant Production is an academic programme and is made up of a planned combination of learning outcomes that have a defined purpose and will provide qualifying learners with applied competence and a basis for further learning. The qualification is made up of Unit Standards that are classified as Fundamental, Core and Elective. A minimum of 142 credits is required to complete the qualification. In this qualification the credits are allocated as follows: Fundamental: 68 credits: 43% Core: 59 credits: 38% Electives: 30 credits: 19% Total: 157 credits: 100%

The qualification is made up of Unit Standards that are classified as Fundamental, Core and Elective. A minimum of 140 credits is required to complete the qualification.

Scientia Agri Institute National Diploma in Animal Production is an academic programme and is made up of a planned combination of learning outcomes that have a defined purpose and will provide qualifying learners with applied competence and a basis for further learning. The qualification is made up of Unit Standards that are classified as Fundamental, Core and Elective. A minimum of 240 credits is required to complete the qualification. In this qualification the credits are allocated as follows: Fundamental: 52 credits: 20% Core: 159 credits: 62% Electives: 47 credits: 18% Total: 258 credits: 100%

The National Diploma: Plant Production NQF 5 (SAQA ID 49010) qualification is designed to meet the needs of those learners who intend to set up or have already set up own ventures, would like to find formal employment in the primary agricultural sector, or who would like to extent their studies, especially to the level of junior farm manager. The purpose of this qualification is to allow Junior Farm Managers to progress towards a Farm Manager position with specific reference to Plant Production.
